CORTISIL Focus Ointment – Clobetasol Propionate Salicylic Acid Urea Lactic Acid & Sodium Lactate Ointment contains a corticosteroid (Clobetasol Propionate) and a keratolytic (Salicylic Acid), as active agents. Clobetasol, a topical steroid, helps to reduce inflammation and redness by inhibiting inflammatory cytokines such as prostaglandins and binding to glucocorticoid receptors. Salicylic Acid is a keratolytic that helps to promote the exfoliation of dead skin cells and hydration to keratinocytes; Urea, Lactic Acid, and Sodium Lactate work as emollients/humectants to help in moisturization and exfoliation.
Together, this combination helps to manage conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and seborrheic dermatitis.
