Composition:- Amikacin 500 mg

BELACIN 500 Injection: Amikacin Sulphate Injection IP 500 MG contains Amikacin, a potent, semi-synthetic aminoglycoside antibiotic derived from kanamycin A. It is primarily used to treat severe infections caused by resistant strains of Gram-negative bacteria and certain Gram-positive organisms. Amikacin works by binding to the bacterial ribosomal subunit, leading to misreading of mrna and disruption of protein synthesis, ultimately causing bacterial cell death.
It is particularly effective in treating multidrug-resistant infections, including those unresponsive to other aminoglycosides such as gentamicin and tobramycin, making it a valuable option in critical care and hospital-acquired infections.
